Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie (Korean: 옥춘맛 쿠키, okchunmat kuki) is an Epic Cookie from Cookie Run: Ovenbreak, released alongside her Pet, Candy Shade Pouch, on August 29th, 2023, in the first half of the Yakgwa Village: Haunting Tales update. She initially appeared as an NPC in the Feast in the Yakgwa Village event on August 29th, 2022, a full year before she was released. Her skill in CROB invloves her flying in a giant candy pouch and collecting small Okchun Jellies to pop the Giant Okchun Jelly.
Okchun Cookie was released in Cookie Run: Kingdom on December 31st, 2024 for the Dawn of a New Adventure update, taking on a Healer role. Her CRK skill invloves her jumping in her giant candy pouch, periodically healing the team and providing buffs. Her in-game description is:

Crafted from freshly harvested rice, infused with colorful syrups, and rolled into a delicately round shape, Okchun Cookie was adorned with a beautiful daenggi hairstyle. Among the esteemed Okchun family, known for being intelligent and wise, this Cookie is the brightest of them all. Perhaps it is due to the sturdy yeot filling in her dough!

She stands up for what she believes in and is able to be vocal when she witnesses any acts of injustice. Okchun Cookie gladly takes on responsibilities both big and small within the office walls and handles them with elegance and ease.

There are times when she ventures out to the market to explore the lives of the village Cookies and even resolves disputes between merchants. She also never forgets to share delicious candies with the less fortunate. There is not one Cookie in the village who does not appreciate her kindhearted nature!

Candy Shade Pouch Candy Shade Pouch (Korean: 색동주머니, saekttongjumoni) is an Epic Pet from Cookie Run: Ovenbreak, released alongside Okchun Cookie. Pets serve as the Cookies' companions, and have their own skills which can act on their own or assist the Cookies. Candy Shade Pouch is a candy pouch which Okchun Cookie sewed herself, but which came to life. In the game, it flies ahead and collects jellies, doing a cute little burp afterwards. Its in-game description is:

Candy Shade Pouch was Okchun Cookie's very first sewing work she has done. The Cookie carefully stitched every seam, pouring their heart into the work. The next day, Candy Shade Pouch opened its eyes, blushing with shyness.

This adorable Pet has a sweet tooth for Okchun Candies and would pester other Cookies for them. But one day, it began to wander around the village, spreading good fortune everywhere! Perhaps... it's a clever plan to collect more candies?

Okchun Cookie is based on a traditional Korean candy called Okchun-dang, made of rice flour and malt syrup. These sweets are used for various traditional ceremonies, where they are piled up in a tower. These towers appear in Okchun Cookie's trial, where they fall after you land on them. The original Okchun-dang are very hard to break, so a food hammer is used to break them into little pieces. This is also referenced in Okchun Cookie's skill and Magic Candy ability, where big Okchun candies shatter into smaller pieces that grant points upon being collected.

Feast in the Yakgwa Village!

Okchun Cookie arrives to the Yakgwa Village together with her relative, Okchun Magistrate, who will be the new magistrate of the village. She suspects something is wrong about him when he continuously shows disregard for the villagers and only cares about eating all of their food reserves. She notes that this behavior is completely out of ordinary for him, and he was always very responsible and benevolent. She enlists the help of Rebel Cookie and Vagabond Cookie to uncover the truth. She works from the shadows, continuing to comply with the fake magistrate's orders while searching for information. The three cookies devise a plan where they bait the imposter with sweets to find out their true identity. Once it's confirmed, the Cookies lead a march of villagers to the Magistrate Office doors, which is when another Okchun Magistrate shows up! The villagers hold a trial to find out which one is the true Okchun Magistrate. And when the imposter is cornered, the truth reveals itself: it was actually a mouse! What happened was, the real Okchun Magistrate fell down on his way to the village, after which a hungry mouse took a bite of some of his crumbs and transformed into a fake magistrate. The mouse then took advantage of this to get to eat even more snacks. Once the villagers learn that the mouse was starving and getting kicked out of every other village, they let him live in the Yakgwa village as long as he works to make up what he's eaten. All the villagers can now celebrate the harvest festival in peace!

Yakgwa Village: Haunting Tales

As the Yakgwa Village is being haunted by a sudden influx of ghosts and goblins, Okchun Cookie travels up the mountain to Gim Cookie's shrine, hoping to get help from the exorcist. Gim Cookie declines her request at first, but as she persuades him by mentioning how he used to live in the village too, he agrees to go help. But he can swear that the presence he felt was that of a ghost, not a cookie... After defeating an enraged Metalmuncher, usually a good ghost, the two cookies come across Vagabond Cookie getting chased by a goblin. Turns out his songs are good at attracting ghosts, so he decides to help out. The village is attacked by a Claw Summoner, and Okchun Cookie leads the villagers to safety, but, for some reason, immediately returns and starts acting strangely, almost sacrificing herself to help Gim Cookie slay the ghost, but then pushes him at the last moment. Gim Cookie successfully defeats the evil spirit.

Later at night, he hears muttering when walking past Okchun Cookie's room. Peeking inside, he sees her talking to herself in front of a vanity mirror with a blank stare. The next day, strange happenings continue, as Gim Cookie hikes back up the mountain to get advice from The Shrine Tree, but finds it gravely injured and asleep to heal its wounds. Just as he notices the Tree's injuries look familiar, he senses the presence of a ghost at the shrine, but finds Okchun Cookie there instead. She acts weird once again, and when the two go back down to the village, Gim Cookie notices that the scars on the possessed guardian posts look the same as the ones on The Shrine Tree.

Gim Cookie, Okchun Cookie and Vagabond Cookie come together to devise a plan against the Inferno Whisperer who is making the weather go crazy in the village's farms. Gim Cookie suspects Okchun Cookie, so he attempts to confront her, which is when Vagabond Cookie starts singing to lighten the mood — and Okchun Cookie's vanity starts shaking! Gim Cookie insists on opening it, but Okchun Cookie kicks both of the guys out. The intense confrontation is cut off when the Inferno Whisperer attacks once again. Its strong winds head towards the office, and Okchun Cookie runs there, Gim hurrying after her. She runs into her room, screaming at the vanity, "Burn it down, burn to ashes!", but the vanity falls on her hand. At the same time, the Inferno Whisperer suddenly stops and Gim Cookie uses the pause to successfully seal it.

The Cookies throw a festival to celebrate the village being free from ghosts (mostly, anyway...), but Vagabond Cookie and Gim Cookie have a serious conversation away from the noise. Both have noticed that Okchun Cookie is possessed, and discuss how they're going to return the real her. Gim Cookie suggests that her soul is sealed inside the vanity. The pair goes searching for Okchun Cookie, but her room is empty and the vanity is gone. Gim Cookie has an idea on where she might've taken it, and the two cookies hurry up to the mountain shrine. There, "Okchun Cookie" is trying to shove the vanity inside the shrine, but Gim Cookie stops her, and, for a brief moment, the true form of this imposter shows up, enough to identify it: it's the Doughstomper, the ghost that Gim Cookie was hunting and missed prior to the story, and the ghost that was controlling all the other ghosts going berserk in the village. Vagabond Cookie begins singing to distract the ghost, the vanity cracks, Okchun Cookie returns to her body, and Gim Cookie can properly fight the Doughstomper now. With everyone's help, Gim Cookie seals the Doughstomper away in the shrine.

The cookies once again celebrate after Okchun Cookie tells everyone what happened, and even Rebel Cookie visits and joins the festival. Back on the mountain, Gim Cookie speaks to The Shrine Tree, saying maybe he shouldn't be so lazy from now on, but the Tree tells him: "Stop trying. What you need is rest. Great work, Gim Cookie."

Thief at Large in Yakgwa Village

One night, the tribute offerings for the King get stolen. Wanted posters for the thief appear in the village, and they all point to Vagabond Cookie! Yugwa Cookie, a secret royal investigator arriving from the capital, arrests Vagabond Cookie despite his protests that he was not guilty. He locks him up in jail, but Okchun Cookie, confident that he's not guilty, enlists the help of Rebel Cookie to get him out and prove him innocent. For the time being, Vagabond Cookie is given a disguise and told to head to Gim Cookie's shrine and stay there until things get resolved. Yugwa Cookie expected this, though, and had a trap prepared...

Out on the streets of the village, Vagabond Cookie passes by Yeot Cookie, who sells yeot sweets. He thinks of buying a few to share with Gim Cookie for the troubles, but gets caught, and it turns out that Yeot Cookie is working with Yugwa Cookie. Yugwa Cookie offers to take Vagabond Cookie to the capital to have a trial if he's so impatient, but Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie stop him. The two groups make a deal: Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie will find the true culprit, since they're so sure of Vagabond Cookie's innocence, while Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie search for evidence of his guilt, accompanied by the suspect himself to keep an eye on him.

Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie question Kumiho Cookie and Moon Rabbit Cookie, the first claiming that the "singing" the thief was doing sounded more like screaming, and that they jumped and danced at night. Later, the same witnesses are questioned by Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie, and the two use their familiarity with the cookies to gain even more information. Kumiho Cookie tells them the thief likely wasn't a cookie, and Moon Rabbit Cookie says that the thief was jumping around on all fours and had a long neck. Concerned that it might be the work of an evil spirit, the pair decides to consult with Gim Cookie. They catch him up on everything that happened, and, suspecting that Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie will visit him as well, ask that he relays a certain message...

Once the royal inspectors arrive, Gim Cookie tells them that the spirits are avoiding the village after the thefts. He also tells them that Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie found "the truth", and the inspectors should go to the village office if they want to know more. However, Yugwa Cookie declines the offer, saying it might not be an isolated crime, and they need to investigate further. The next morning, they find out more thefts occured, but, since Vagabond Cookie was there with them the entire time, Yugwa Cookie concludes he really isn't guilty after all, but still keeps him around until they've found the real thief.

Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie alongside Vagabond Cookie meet up with Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie to discuss their findings. Yugwa Cookie apolgizes for accusing, which the cookies accept. They exchange information and enact Yugwa Cookie's plan. The first plan is a singing contest, which they hoped would allow them to identify the thief by their unique sounds, but it doesn't work. Next, they try to bait the thief with offerings to the mountain gods. Gim Cookie holds a ritual, in which everyone needs to bow, our heroes look for any suspicious activity. The plan fails, so Yeot Cookie suggests yet another trap: laying out yeot on the village streets, then following the trail where it's gone! But next morning, all of it is gone...

The group is stumped, but suddenly, Kumiho Cookie approaches them with new evidence, She claims to have seen the thief walking on all fours and then disappearing into the mountains. The cookies go visit Gim Cookie once again, who has taken precautions against evil spirits, and Rebel Cookie climbs a tree to view the village from high up. And there he sees it: a creature with a long neck eating food off the floor and running on all fours! The cookies chase the creature, and arrive on a clear field with nothing but snow around, the thief's trail gone. Just as things begin seeming hopeless, Yugwa Cookie summons the Yugwa Tiger, his loyal companion. Everyone hops on and then they hear screaming like the thief. They follow the sound, and find... A yakgwa deer! Turns out, it and its fawn were hungry, so it had to go to the village to steal food. Yugwa Cookie says he will "file a petition that sweet snacks be scattered through the bare mountains and fields so that no dessert animals goes hungry." (can i just say for a sec, i really hate that ending)

Our Special Pie Party

This story was released in CROB's 8th anniversary update, and, as such, a lot of old cookies make cameos, and that includes Okchun Cookie. The story follows Candy Corn Cookie and Everything Pie Cookie as they prepare for the Pumpkin Moon party (their version of Halloween, basically). Candy Corn Cookie takes a train to the city to buy ingredients for the perfect pie and to invite even more cookies to the party.

When Candy Corn Cookie gets off the train, she must traverse a dark and dense forest to get to the city. Strange things happen, weird noises echo throughout and eeire voices invite her to play. A potential cookienapping is stopped by Gim Cookie, who exorcises the ghost, and Okchun Cookie reassures the girl that there's nothing to fear now. Candy Corn Cookie says she wasn't scared and actually wanted to invite the ghosts to the party! (really great idea!) Gim Cookie remarks: "Aren't you a brave little Cookies? I'd known that, I would have left you to fend for yourself..." and Okchun Cookie says "Never mind him. You gave us quite a fright, and he's unable to hold his sharp tongue." Candy Corn Cookie invites the two cookies to the party and leaves to continue her errands. I find this little interaction to be quite charming.
